Working on a Photo Gallery

I am working on setting up a photo gallery where I can upload images straight to the web from anyplace I have an internet connection and my laptop or computer with USB support.

What this means is this. I will have some password protected areas, for family pictures that I don't want the world to see and other areas, for the whole internet to see. Another thing this means is this. I need to use my camera a lot more than I have been. But don't worry. Images from other galleries already deep inside spacemanbob.com will be converted over as soon as I figure out how this new one all works.

No more searching links for photo's of SPACEMANBOB. One place will include all of the goods. :)

UFO Sighting at Rendlesham Airbase

Ok folks.... I watched this show last night with Bryant Gumble. It actually raised more questions than it did answer them for me. One thing I noticed though is that they were promoting so many other peoples books and theories that it clouded the whole story.

When they did focus on some individuals, their visual discriptions of what happened were different to say the least. If you are going to put people on that are going to be telling what they saw, at least make sure that they will tell similar stories so we will believe it. These people told stories of what they saw so different that they could have been reporting on totally different events.

But back to the post.

I will be posting what I can find on this in the forums so we can all look at some of the data and go hunting ourselves for ALIENS.

Now this is scary... I can now post Audio Blogs from the road. I can only post 12 a month so it won't be a whole bunch but I will experiment with it. Who knows. Maybe I will post something wild and crazy when I am out in Los Angeles.

Hostile Planet

Thanks to BZORG I now own Hostileplanet.com and org. Not to mention Spacemanconspiracy.com and .org also.

I would like to thank Go Daddy .com though for having the domain names so cheap at 8 bucks a pop.

Bzorg, who is confussed Dec 13, 2003 9:36 AM

ahhh, Mr Spaceman, I am humbled to have helped you, but at a loss to understand how I did that?

p.s. how do you go about getting a domain name? When I have fianl dominion over this watery orb, I might want to do just that?

Bob Dec 13, 2003 9:58 AM

You made an entry the other day and put the email address of bzorg@hostileplanet.com. I did a search on hostileplanet.com and found out that it wasn't registered to anyone. So I decided I liked the name and bought it. I don't know what I am going to do with that quite yet but am sure I will think of something soon.

Bzorg, the benefactor... Dec 15, 2003 9:41 AM

So how would I go about buying a site, as you did? where and how is it done?

Comments

Ok.. I added something to show that I truely like your comments. I have included a new script that will post your comments as if you put them right under my post. This way you don't have to click on a link to see that comments from people.

If you would rather have the comments in a top 5 list then let me know. Right now it makes it easier to figure out what we are all talking about without having to pop open another window.

Testing the Comments section

Be prepared....

Another UFO show comes on the air again at the SciFi Channel. They are going to investigate a sighting at an English airbase and try to convince me that the UFO is real.

What I suspect will happen is that there will be a lot of speculation and fuzzy video tapes. Along with poor sound bites making us believe that someone is really telling us what we want to hear.

I'll watch this program but will hold my tongue until it is finally over. In my opinion, if this were such a big case, it should have been blown out of proportion a long time ago. The Human species is just to curious to hold onto something this important for so long without telling someone about it. Just think about all the people that work on the spy planes in testing. Other people know about it way before the general public does. That's because us humans like talking about what we do for a living. It is habit and nothing will change that. Someone or in specifics, many people would have already leaked out information to their friends who in turn would hae eventually leaked this to other friends.

In the mean time I will find something on the net to look at and post my findings here for you all to digest.

p.s. I want to believe, but have not run across anything yet that I can say is anything truely out of this world. :)

OOOO, give me the blogger tool spaceman. Mean Mr. Dana is not worthy! ME, Me, ME! may-waaa-ha-ha!

If you want a Challenge...

If you would like a challenging job. Go into the Computer Industry. It is constantly changing and will overflow your mind with new operating systems and software every three years if not yearly.

I am constantly having to learn new things and remember old things to make some things work. LOL Seems just as we get a computer or Server all set up, some new software comes out that then makes us change up configurations.
I really wish they had matrix like memory plugins so we could use it as short term memory to know how to work certain computers for a couple hours.

But back to reality. I am working on some Server Hardware which is giving me an early morning brain blank. Seems that maybe BZORG is blocking my brain wave patterns. STOP IT!!!! LOL

Merry Xmas and Happy Holidays to everyone.

Just a reminder

If you want to just leave a simple chat message to me. You can now use the Quick Chat option on the left side of the page. Don't worry you won't have to leave a web page address. Only if you want to when people try to click on your name.

The best thing about it is that if I am online and looking at my page, it will refresh when you hit the save button.

p.s. I am trying to work on a plugin that will display the top 5 comments on the right side of the web page. But as of right now. I don't know how to get all the coding set up. I am working on it though.

Hiring a New Computer Support Person

Ok... Once again I am going off the deep end when it comes to work.

We are hiring a new Microcomputer Support person. At first it seemed a good idea to hire someone with a lot of Mac Experience so they could handle any Mac issues that came up, and we had a lot at the time we talked about it. Now two months later we have no mac issues. We were also thinking about a certain individual because he had some computer lab experience. Now the new person is not going over to the new athletics building so we don't really need that.

Of the people we have interviewed we came up with two decent prospects.

One person with a lot of Mac Experience and no Novell experience, along with no real computer trouble shooting experience with current technology. His last computer to build was a Pentium 500 MHz.

Person number two has worked on and built computers as of a week ago. Has a lot of computer trouble shooting skills and has used Novell in the past to administer the network. The only thing he doesn't have is MAC experience.

So I find out today that they are going to offer the job to guy number one. I would prefer guy number two since I won't have to sit down and teach him how to do his job. Plus I get along better with guy number two.

Looking at some idea and plugins...

I am looking into some plugins to add some functionality to the site for me as well as the user.

I also have an idea for the main initial page of Spacemanbob.com. It will include some new links to items and will serve as a spring board for entering the world of Spacemanbob.

Look forward to the changes.

Bzorg, the once and future king of cerebellums Dec 10, 2003 7:49 AM

Behold the spaceman, like the incredible edible egg, one must first crack the shell to get at the goodies within...

Some people amaze me...

Soo... once again I work for some people that have never been in a corperate environment in an IT department. And it shows.

We are now moving people into a brand new facility and have a lot of computers there that will need support. The original proposal was to move one computer support person over there so we could have better coverage of calls from the whole department in general. We are also hiring a new person to help in the calls and to free up our programmer from having to do such issues.

NOT!!!!!

In their grand vision they once again throw all common sense out into the cold and go with a new plan.

They are now putting the programmer in the new facility to handle all the trouble calls in that new area and we are still hiring a new computer support person and he will be in the office next to me. What a mess. Now we will have twice the coverage in one building and still force people to wait for help in the other buildings further away.

I am constantly surprised by choices like these.

All I can say is this. If the Programmer wants to be a computer trouble shooter he should have applied for the open position and we should have put an add for a new programmer instead.

Getting off soap box now.

CSS Coming together

Finally I got to put some CSS to work. I now have the layout of the blogger the way I want for now. I don't know why it took me this long to get to this but at least it is done. Now I can start working on getting the older links back online for you to all enjoy.

Working on some CSS

I am working on some new CSS to make the webpage look a little better. This is a long term project so things will progress as I find the time. Which I have a little more of these days.

Just wanted to let you all know.

p.s. I am still waiting for UFO information to comment on, so if you find any, post it on in the forums.
