While cleaning out boxes to throw away stuff that I haven't looked at or used in the past year. I found my Handheld HAM Radio. I am so happy I found it. Now I just need to program it for the towers around Los Angeles. I remember having the car model in my Jeep and using it for general talk and for Earthquake updates after the Northridge quake. I can also use it to help coordinate law and fire departments in case of a national emergency when the normal telephone lines are down. That is if I am alive. LOL
Either way, it was a good find and it made me happy that I found it.
The Previous Administration has created a Culture of Fear and Paranoia in the US. People in all walks of life now believe in stories that are half baked from quotes taken out of context. It is incredible how many people fear their neighbors and are afraid to help out due to these misplaced fears.
I squarely put a lot of the fear mongering on the Bush Administration for this, since it stems from policies pushed through congress on the tails of "For the Children" or "Terrorist" Speak. OMG People get some education. If you see something on TV, do a little more research before you believe outlandish stories. Even on the Internet, if you see a story being reported, look up some of the facts or google and educate yourself.
Okay. :) Getting off my soapbox now.
It's a wonder I don't trip in the morning with these two guys circling my feet...
He works at Area 51 and his name is BoB Jones. He popped into this world and made a pitstop in Long Beach. More details as I get them...
Here are my two work Buddies... They protect me from Virus's and Spyware... Scary Huh?

My power supply bit the dust. Put in a new one and now things run just fine.
I just realized that I had scanned the images from my drawing lessons and had put them on usb stick. Here are some of the images with some comments as to what they are.
This is a basic drawing that my friend drew for me to allow me to see the perspective of preportions.

This one is from my first lesson with Mike. He drew a little, then explained how I should draw it. I think we finished this guy off in 15 minutes.

This drawing is from one of the books I bought that has weapons and vehicles in it. I just turned to a page and started drawing a woman freehand. Not good but not really terrible either. Should get better as time goes on.

The images here are from the other book I bought on learning how to draw. I forget the author's name but when I get my home computer up and running you will see more drawings and I'll make sure to post the author.

This is a trace drawing of a Soldier from the Vehicle and Weapons art book I bought. Tracing sounds easy, but it can be trying when there is so much detail. Took me a while to not smudge while I was moving my hand all over the paper.

The reason for this post is just to talk about Earthquakes and to prepare my mind for one, since I know this is quake country.
This is one Awesome clock. Love it.

I'll keep you updated on things as I get working on it. No art drawing postings today.
When i get back from work tonight, I'll be uploading some images from my first drawing lesson. hopefully they will not scare you off. The main reason I am doing this is to help my 3D design later on so i can work on ideas that i have held in my pee brain.
Will be firing up Lightwave again. Probably going to have to go through some basics but I think now that my webpage is up and running, I'll be able to make some progress on some 3D Modeling ideas.

This gift is awesome. A globe that spins all by itself and requires no batteries. Just add a little sunlight and off it goes. Here is a video of it in action.
Went downtown to Chinatown yesterday. Had some fun and had some good food. Met some friends and we had Dim Sum to start the day off, then went to see some of the events happening for the Chinese New Year.
One of the stores we went into was really weird.... The owners were a couple that seemed to like to chase off customers. My first experience was that I had my hand touching the glass plate where they were displaying a lot of knife weapons. The grumpy guy came up to me to tell me to remove my hand from the glass as if I were going to break it. Come on..... The weight of my hand was on the metal bar outside of the glass, but to humor the guy I removed it. Then he says that if we want to look at something to let him know, and he would let us see the Weapons. Ha.... LOL Just looked at my friend Mike and laughed....
As time went on the owner started to crack jokes or poke fun at a guy that wasn't buying his Girlfriend anything. That's when the atmosphere started to get uncomfortable and as the couple left I decided to leave...
Long story short..My friends bought some stuff from there and the product they bought proceeded to break 10 minutes after.. Sooo if you want some abuse while you shop for cheap Chinese Trinkets go to this shop.

Another shop where we had a better experience was this one.. Sincere Gifts.. I also got an image of my friends daughter in a pretty outfit they bought.

And here is Jasmine looking all pretty.
