Spanky Strikes Again

My friend Spanky has done me a wonderful favor. He has created three new logo's for me. I have posted these to the bottom right of my site. If you want to link to me just grab whatever logo you want and href it back to me.

Here they are in order.

Photoshop Magic

Sometimes I have no clue how some of these artists come up with these images. And to top it off this person used just Photoshop to make this wonderful image come to life.

Just messing around and helping someone visualize something

I belong to a Lightwave group and actually helped someone with visualizing something. These will look pretty simple but once you see them it makes sense than trying to read it from a book. I also rendered this in FPrime in under 30 seconds, something Lightwave can't do very well.

Beware of the Glubber

I heard about Glubbers a long time ago, and was told that they do not exist. Well I have found one and they are just as horrible as I thought they would be. Here is one just hanging around.

Beware of Glubbers.....They are attracted to Gribblemeisters.

Making an animation

I am making an animation at home. It is of a Covert Scanner from Star Wars Galaxies. I made the Scanner quite a while back but then did nothing with it. So since I have started opening Lightwave back up I have decided to look at some of my works to refresh my mind.

I will post the link to the animation if it turns out ok when I get home.

Figures.....Animations not working

I spent two days rendering an animation and when it was done the file size said 0bytes. Arghhhhh!!!!!!!

I am rendering it again and have stopped it twice to make sure it does render information. So here we go again. I'll just use my laptop for a couple days.

Animation Output

I got home from being away this weekend and am glad to report that the animation I was working on did complete as scheduled this time. Don't know what happened last time.

I will post a link to it for you and post some stills. It is just a simple pan and scan animation but it is also something I need to do in order to get back into Lightwave. You will need divx codec's to watch it. You can get those for free off of www.divx.com. The animation is only 170KB in divx format. The uncompressed version was 6.5 megs. :)

Should have this posted later tonight. But I will post stills today.

Covert Scanner and Animation

Well here are the covert scanner images and the animation is below on a link.

Picture of the Day

Once again I don't know how these people do it but another Photoshop Image.... I swear that they use some other program but I'll just keep my jaw dropped for this for now.

[Listening to: 04 - Querer - Cirque Du Soleil - Alegria (04:34)]

Work for Dana

Here are two images that are about as basic as you can get in 3D.

Dana, see if this guy likes them.

3D Image of the Day

Here is a quick 3D Image someone made of a woman packing trouble.

Added some more functionality to the site

I added a java clock to the main page on the right side above the calendar. I am going to modify this to display my time so you will know the time zone I am in. For now enjoy the clock. :)

Rusty Bottle for all you Rust fans.....

Here is a basic bottle with rust on it. Looks good doesn't it?

Partlymyfault

Well Mike has finally done it. He now has a blog all to himself. :) Check it out at http://www.partlymyfault.com

Lava City made in Cinema 4D

Nice futuristic type of place there. Too bad my reality check would make it to unreliable to really live on if it were indeed ontop of a lava bed. :)

Time Clock hmmmm

Seems that the clock I added is only taking time from the local computer that is looking at my site at the time. Soooo... If your system clock is off by 1 year it will show that time. Guess it's time to go looking for an applet that will report the time based off a local instead of a local computer.

:)

Baked out CCD

Looks like the Sun has killed off the Sun Probe. Look at the bottom of the page on the left side of my blogs. May have to find something else to put there soon.

Incredible 3D Image of a Knight in Armor

Here is just an incredible image. This was done in Maya a 3D Program that allows you to create objects and then render them into 3D. Maya is one of many packages out there and is one of the most expensive also. I use Lightwave and still haven't scratched the surface of it since I just don't spend the time to get really really good at it. But enough of that, here is the image of a Knight in Armor

Scary image to be sure....

What if....it were a nice day and all of a sudden silently out of the east came these craft, with no sound and started landing in the neighborhood. The world would be changed forever.

[Listening to: Music To Watch Girls By - Tiki Tones - Matrix Reloaded (02:58)]

Did this rendering last night.

This is a power generator from the online game Star Wars Galaxies. The game is not true 3d but is close. I just made it a lot more realistic. I have also added a little animation of it rotating around. If you have Divx installed, which is a codec plugin, you can watch this. Get the plugin if you need it at www.divx.com

Here is the image.

Generator AVI

Here is the link for the AVI for the below picture. It is only 560KB so it won't kill you to download it.

Special edition....

Here is a preview of a CG movie a guy is making and has been making for the last year or so. He does this on his spare time from working at a gaming company and is getting closer and closer to finishing it. He posts updates every once and a while and since most of us CG guys have his site bookmarked, he goes over his bandwidth almost weekly. LOL I downloaded this latest one and it is a cool teaser to say the least. Once again you will need Divx but it is well worth the install.

Here is the movie. Ohh. It is 7 megs in size.

Here is a still of something we haven't seen yet in the trailer.

Found a stash of preview pics for Code Guardian

I have found some pictures of the the video and some things in it. I will put them together and post them when I get them all compiled. :)

Pictures galore... of Code Guardian by Marco Spitoni

Here are some pictures from Marco's site. He is continuing his work on this project and I plan on supporting him all the way when it finally comes out. I would point you to his site but he has made some changes to limit the amounts of downloads from his site. So I'll just post what I have seen in the past.

If you want to see the Trailer remember you need to have the codec from Divx Codec Click Here

Attempting to produce something in Lightwave....

I will be working on the tutorial books again for Lightwave to see if I can produce anything in 3D. One of these days, maybe I will be able to sell it to a major company and make millions. LOL Yeah right.

[Listening to: The Bridge on the River Kwai: Colonel Bogey - The Prague Philharmonic Orchestra - The Longest Day: Classic War Films (04:09)]

Sabre Tooth Tiger

Found this image while looking at a plugin that would allow me to do hair or furr on things. Only problem is that it costs $500.00. Guess I'll just think about hair on things for a while. LOL.

[Listening to: The Magnificent Seven / Elmer - Theme - Reel Music 2 (05:49)]

Photoshop almost a no way man image...

Found this on the net today. This artist claims he used just photoshop to create this image. It is so detailed that I don't know how he did it. The clouds even. Hmmmm.. Suspect more than just photoshop was used to create this.

[Listening to: 11 - Fires Of Ork / Fires Of Ork II - Various Artists - Logic Trance 2 (Disc #2 ) (06:25)]

Finally opening the books again and reading them.....

I am currently reading some things in my Lightwave book to familiarize myself back with a bunch of shortcuts I forgot about. I will post screen shots as I do things.

Just finished eating in a great restaurant

I just had a great time this evening eating at a nice restaurant called Deep Fork. The food was wonderful and the service was great. I had Yellow Fin Tuna with a nice red center. My mouth drools just thinking about it. But the best part was the music they were playing while we were eating. Out of the blue I notice a catchy tune. It tuned out to be Lemon Jelly - Elements and then moved on to some other Lemon Jelly songs later. It was done in a tasteful manner just loud enough to be heard but not to interrupt with your conversations. I think I will mark this as a return spot since it was so good.

[Listening to: Main Title / Riders of Taramis - Basil Poledouris - Conan the Destroyer (03:34)]

Simple Lighting 101

I have finally gotten to lighting in my Lightwave book. This is simple but as I progress it will get better looking as I play with more settings and apply textures to it.

One last Picture of the Day

Here is a CG Picture rendered in Lightwave. Some of these guys just have all the time in the world to get this program down. I'm gonna keep on working on it too. :P
