It was not well known in the hollar, but dana had been the reciepient of a experiment from the kindly folks at the Univercity, they had installed a small micro chip into his pons. This is the area right above the medulla oblongata. Before this experiment dana would have heard ‘pons’ and thought about the green scum covered areas that fill with rain after the strip miners had left…but now dana was about the smartest man in his highly cross connected family tree, heck, maybe the smartest in the three closest counties. dana preferred to think of that family tree as having tertiary bonds, not just being a gangle of familiar DNA all buzzed up in the family chamber pot and then poured out in a cast iron corn bread mold to be baked or something.
Now it was Tuesday and on Tuesday’s dana always read to the children of the hollar. Being as most of them were semi alien mutents lacking in three our four genes for mobility and mirth, they most about times just sat there like medicine balls. Their pale skinny arms hanging down like pole beans with out strings to guide as they sought the bright ball of fire in the sky (being as he had that chip, dana knew this as heliotroposism, he was still waiting for chance to move that word into a conversation down at the gas station/resturant, but the opportunity seemed to be stalled as most folks were so startled by ‘big’ words that they choked reflexively and snot and other such material exploded from the cruel joke nature had placed between their stilted eyes and their upper lips.)
...what do you think? I feel it is ironic that the hero, dana is the smart one and not one of inbred...

Actually Dana knows about pons, and the parts of the brain. I know about DNA and RNA... DNA made of neucleotides; Purines and Pyrimidines (hopefully spelled somewhat right? dont matter) without my scummy pons, i wouldnt be able to breathe, have a functioning heart, etc so for, any autonomic function would cease... and lastly pons means "bridge" :)

What do you think about the T-4 bacteriophage? Do you think it looks like the Lunar lander the astronauts used to 'land' on the moon? Astronaughts on the moon...HAR HAR HAR!
