I put together a Dual Processor system last night. Hmmmm.. AMD's MP 2600+ which clock out around 2.2 gig. I installed everything checked it twice, and booted the system. Installed Windows XP Prof and when it was all finished installing, all it saw was one processor. I got upset about this since I did pay for the Dual Processor board and the extra processor. So I installed Windows 2000 Prof instead thinking that maybe it was something to do with XP. Once again failure. Only one processor shows up.
I am not in contact with the company that sold me this combo and see what they have to say about it. If they can't come up with a good answer then I will have to return these to them and wait till I can buy a Xenon Dual Motherboard system.
You maybe asking why I need that. Well, when I do my renders in Lightwave, they take a long time. This way I will be able to render twice as fast as well as having a machine that will complete things I am working on faster.
More information will be posted as I find things out.

I have it figured out. I got a bumb Processor. Back to the shop on Monday to get a replacement. So the current status is down.
And I have to say this will be the last AMD system I ever build. I always have had slight issues with them, most of it minor, but I have always had an issue of some sort. Now, with Intel I just haven't had any trouble with them. Oh well, must be the luck of the draw.
Ok. News on the Dual Processor. The company that sold me the processors has taken back the defective processor and is now working on getting me a replacement. Hopefully I will have a working unit by the end of the week.
